Arriving at Gate H, I looked up to the Temple of Winds Rotunda that was built in 1873 as it sits on a bluestone platform that was quarried from the Gardens. Others would jog the “Tan” track for an easy 100 metres. But I chose to walk and it wasn’t long before I cross Alexandra Avenue and arrived back at the Swan Street Bridge.

As I walked towards the city, there were rowers about in the river. Passing the Judge’s Box, i saw a couple of boatsheds. The first building, with it picturesque tower was built in 1908 for the 50th anniversary of Melbourne University’s Boat Club, which is also Australia’s oldest rowing club.
