Speakers’ Corner

Leaving the Federation Bells behind, I went past the Redgum Gully, planted with the type of trees that lined the Yarra before the Europeans arrived. The Billabong along the pathway symbolised the lagoons that once dotted the area.

To the left of the billabong, under some trees is the Speakers’ Corner. I had some difficulties locating the mounds, but once found, I could see the Speakers’ Sculptures that interpret the site. Speaking of Speakers’ Corner, how many Singaporeans have actually made use of our corner??
