Melbourne Public Baths

Having explored Lygon St at night, I decided to take a look at the Carlton Precinct by day. Passing by the Melbourne Public Baths for the third time in these few days, I finally decided to take a look at what's inside this place. The doorway at the ground floor says "Sports Medicine Clinic", so I thought it could be some sports management school or physiotherapy place.

I walked up the stairs and as I opened the door, the smell of chlorine hit me. This was an indoor swimming pool!! It was divided into two sections, one for men and the other for women, even now when it's only for leisure swimming. Whow!!

According to the notice there, this was the first pool where competitive swimming took place. Making sure it was okay for me to walk around the place, I went to the stands where spectators used to stand or sit during competition. Hey! I have just gotten myself into another piece of sporting history of Melbourne!
