Leech!
So I thought hmm…end of story… but two minutes later, he reappeared in the café and sat besides me at my terminal!I msn Connie Chae for help – in hanyu pinyin, but some help she was!! She said the best way is to ignore, which I tried and failed. He started to peep at the computer screen, looking at my photos. Sensing, something’s wrong, I went into soccernet to read up on EPL. (Okay, I should have sensed it right from the start. But hey! Aussies are extremely friendly people.) Men are usually turned off by females who enjoyed sports. Now I know this would probably apply only to Asians. He started asking me which is my favourite soccer team, what I do in Singapore. He had already provided me with the information that he’s single and available as he broke up with his Singaporean girlfriend last year while we were still in the streets.
Making known the fact that he has an online betting account, he said he would place A$20 bet on Chelsea to win Middlesborough this weekend. Before I knew it, I asked him why, as the odds are not good. Shit! More trouble ahead! He took over my terminal and went on to check on the odds, explaining how this online betting works.
Suddenly, he took out a tiny piece of paper with his mobile number and email address in it and pass it to me, insisting that he gets my email address too. Forced to a corner, I wrote down my email address and pass it to him.
Silence prevails. It was me who eventually broke the ice by telling him I would probably take a long time here, no point of him wasting his time here.
Yet, he refused to go away until he had my mobile number, and made me promised to let him take me to Brighton Beach the next day and he will pick me up at the corner of King’s and Little Bourke Street.
