King & Godfree

The first place that I came to in the Carlton Preccint was at 163 Lygon St, Casa Del Gelato. I remembered walking pass this shop the night before and there were long queues outside the shop. Feeling a little bit hungry, I wanted to have gelato for early lunch, but the shop doesn't open till 12noon and it's only 10.30am!!

Next was King & Godfree at 293 Lygon St. This place has been selling spirits and wines, both local and import, since 1884. They were selling bread at a corner of this shop. I had initially thought that all the bread there were only for display only, failing to recognise that there were real bread for sale. Hahaha!! Silly me!

Since they accept cards there, I bought a jar of jam and a bottle of balsalic vinegar home. Hope mum likes it!!

PS. Oh, King & Godfree is so well established that they have a private lane to themselves!!
