Hanging around the City

I started wondering around the city, finding places to escape the heat. I very much wanted to stay outdoors, at shady places with the breeze blowing onto my face. But it was people everywhere, most of them trying to enjoy the last bit of sunny weather before the summer finally ends.

Loitering in the city, especially when I reached those places where I first met the stalker, I get flustered. Frustrated, I decided to return to the hostel.

On the way back, I even went into a betting shop to watch a Manchester United match. It was really HOT! That was a place that had air-conditioner inside.

Next to this shop was a book store. I stepped in, and nearly bought a book. Eventually, I was chased out of this particular book store as it close at 5pm. No other shops were open. No wonder the city looked deserted. I will bet my last dollar that they have all went to the beaches.

I strolled into a 7-11. Bought water and pre-paid phone card there. I almost wanted to stay in there for two hours, but was afraid that the attendance will call the police. So I ended up back in the hostel, thinking of an early rest as I look forward to my Great Ocean Road trip tomorrow, remembering to take a longer route for fear of the stalker. Thank God he was nowhere in sight as I checked out the surroundings across the street.
