Colac – Fish & Chips!

I went into Colac dreaming of my fish & chips. Finally, I’m going to have the famous fish & chips. But it was a disappointment! The whole place was a like a ghost town! And I have to settle for Chinese noodles. Seeing the Uncle manning the wok reminded me of mum. Suddenly, I missed her cooking so much. Mum, this picture is for you.

Since the German girl and I were the only ones there, we started talking. Her name was Sandra and she has taken a year off to travel around the world.

It took her five years to save up, but her dream came true. Her first stop was Canada and then down to the South American countries before making her way to New Zealand. Her first stop in Australia was Melbourne and she will spend a couple of weeks in Down Under. She said she should arrive in Asia in about ten weeks. We exchanged our emails addresses and agreed to meet when she arrive in Singapore.
